We need a systems review of our ICT as quickly as possible, especially with our new programmes and establish a clear path, paying serious attention to visibility and image. We have waited for far too long primarily owing to resource constraints. Also our moderate commitment to innovativeness and resourcefulness has not been helpful. We can be productive with or without immediate financial gains, which will eventually come. Through the Webmaster, staff must make meaningful contributions if our IT dream should come to fruition. The information and materials you provide together with our students will make the Freetown Polytechnic brand unique. Without overemphasizing our relevance in society, we can foment and gradually foster a footprint in the education sector in Sierra Leone and beyond worth emulating. Think of it!
This is a great observation Principal Samba Moriba. We need a concerted effort from the administration, staff, and students to upgrade the ICT infrastructure in the institution. The attitude towards technology by some admin staff and lecturers is hampering its progress. Some admin staffs are just reluctant to change and this demotivates the work of the webmaster. But with this inspirational message from no less a person but the institutional head, I am going to accelerate the effort towards upgrading the ICT department.
